The History of Challenger   

In 1890, Americans Benjamin Holt and Daniel Best started experimenting with various forms of steam tractors for use in farming. Working separately for their respective companies they were pioneers with track-type tractors and petrol-powered tractor engines.

Challenger’s history is rooted in the legendary track technology of Caterpillar, but has more recently been extended to incorporate wheeled tractors, combine harvesters, balers and more, including application machinery from Ag-Chem Europe, with its own deep-rooted history.
